update on the expected pregnancy lecture from my mom: there was none : / boooo, my mom doesnt humor me with her serious lectures on things i shouldnt be doing. last night i hung out with friends at kevins until 3am. normally my parents would express their concerns as soon as i got home. and by concerns i mean ask me why my cell phone was off and ask whether i was taking substances and whether or not ive been cruising down blackstone searching for hookers and all that other bad jive, but surprisingly i found them in a good mood this morning. its this kind of lax attitude thats allowing me to have one of the best summers ever. i even remember my mom scolding me over the phone once because my sister told her i stayed up till 3am during school. (what she didnt know was that i actually stayed up till 5am that morning). last night surprised me because normally there isnt anything to do in fresno that late, and listening to kevin mention pr0n at least 5 times to tera and i while flipping through channels humored me.

i think ive succeeded in completely de-instutionalizing myself already. what i feared most was the possibility that when i came back to fresno i wouldnt click with my old friends anymore. these past few weeks have ruled out that possibility. on top of that, there have been zero starbucks-reminisce-with-friends-about-how-cool-your-school-is reunions. good times, good times.

it feels good to be home. the girls here dont grab each others breasts and keep you up at night with their wannabe booty call actress screaming.

today is a prime example of what everyday of the summer should be like. hell, everyday even during school should be that way. hanging out with friends for awhile is an excellent way to reward yourself after enduring 3 grueling hours of econ. admittingly, so far i find that class almost as interesting as intl relations. video conferencing seems like a decent method of learning, but you dont get that same effect as a live lector (lecturer?). and by same effect i mean you dont fall asleep as easily. i also noticed that there was a drop dead gorgeous girl in the UC extension center--unfortunately shes not taking econ. thats my cue to spend my lunch breaks wandering that labyrinth.

experience the incredible...john's incredible pizza. from what i observed, this "buffet" position doesnt appear very fun. but hey, a job is a job and 6.75 an hour is pretty damn good compared to a few years ago (thank you democrats).

serena was right, pranks on parents can be fun. today i put a receipt with a lipstick print on the back directly covering the speedometer of my moms car. o i cant wait to get that "dont impregnate a girl" lecture for the 27th time. speaking of which, much thanks to peter and tera for organizing the picnic. im confident everyones looking forward to having more of them this summer (hopefully including friends unable to make this one). its the simplest things that manifest the most fun.
