you can call me rusty

thats precisely what my writing abilitys telling me.

ya ya ya, this is going to sound like a new simpsons episode, you know one of those poorly written, classless pieces of recycled entry thats being rehashed for the sake of being put out. yet i suppose this is something i feel somewhat strongly about if ive mentioned it before. obsession with image. is this something persistent only in american culture or is this a universal human trait? high school (and especially middle school) mark the prime time for choosing a specific social genre to belong to and maintaining the image that comes with it. the way some people cut their hair, the modifications to clothing, the band the shirt advertises. obviously all of this is merely a matter of personal taste and choice, but what bugs me at times is the logic behind the decision making itself. theres absolutely nothing wrong with picking something to be unique. sometimes in the process of attaining individuality, one becomes enveloped in conforming to a specific clique. you know what i mean. sometimes youll see someone dressed with a really specific style of clothing and you say to yourself "woe, that person did a good job of looking ______". dont get me wrong, i find nothing wrong with having a sense of style. the problem lies in forcing yourself to fit the style. "if im looking ______, then i should enjoy these kinds of things and act this specifc way." thats what really peeves me. thats where i think the obsession comes out. respect if youre the type of person who isnt afraid to deviate from the image you put out. sure you can really deceive people that way, but hey, people arent supposed to appreciate you for your image, it all boils down to your personality.

the letter G. play a little word/letter association with it and tell me what you can come up with. i came up with "g unit", because i saw an advertisement in the newspaper this morning of an 8 year old sporting g unit clothing. it kinda reminds me of this obtuse guy in my chinese class (belonged to the majority race) who came to class every morning wearing what appeared to be a sean john velvet jumpsuit. his quote remains forever burned in memory on that first day of spring, "DAY-um dude, theres hella girls wearing skirts today!" i laughed so hard at him, only further disgusting the two girls in our study group.
